Temporary Country Construction Manager for the H&M Group in Belgium/Luxembourg

In this role you will temporarily cover the position as Country Construction Manager during a sick leave. You will manage a team of project managers and report to the Expansion Manager. You will be part of Country Expansion team, which consist of Leasing, Store Development, Legal, Construction and the Facility department.
 
Your responsibilities
The job of a Temporary H&M Country Construction Manager in Construction is to secure all construction related activities. Your responsibilities include amongst others:
•    Plan resources and strategy to secure targets, KPI’s and deadlines for new stores and rebuilds.
•    Ensure efficient internal and external planning and execution of projects
•    Manage and executes Recruitment, On Boarding, Training, Developing and Succession Planning within team.
•    Secure high professionalism of your team by feedbacks and trainings.
•    Secure correct construction budgets for new store and rebuild projects and follow-up the development of budget vs forecasts / actuals
•    Understand the business case behind each project in order to be able to drive negotiations and budgeting process in targeted direction
•    Manage and monitor the project cost development together with the Construction Controller and take action on negative trends.
•    Secure the prequalification and tender process of architects, engineers, consultants, contractors and suppliers in accordance with procurement instructions
•    Ensuring effective communication and high level of collaboration with internal stakeholders (Global H&M, New Brands, internal departments) as well as external stakeholders.
•    Secure implementation of company’s routines and policies at all times

-      At least 3-5 years of working experience as project/construction manager or equivalent role, preferable with staff responsibility
-      Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (civil engineering, architecture, construction, project management, etc.)
-      Strong understanding of legislation and building regulations
-      Excellent prioritization skills and the ability to plan long term without losing the daily details.
-      Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
-      Business minded team player
-      Strong and proven leadership skills
-      Show passion and enthusiasm in daily work
-      Able to travel for periods of time and to work flexible hours.
-      Fluent in English and French, Dutch is a plus
