    What will you do?

On our internship programme you’ll receive tailored on-the-job training from industry experts combined with early responsibility to help you to develop and progress.

    Context of the internship :

The texture analysis is a common technique widely used in the pharmaceutical industry to characterize the mechanical properties via the application of a force on a specimen, recording the compression and penetration resistance offered by the sample. This technique provides critical information on the material texture and its behaviour under stress conditions of production, handling and transportation.

Despite its use in routine for solid dosage forms and gels, the technique is almost unexplored for freeze-dried cakes and injection force from single use device testing.

In the framework of vaccine products, this stage aims to deepen the knowledge of the mechanical forces undergone by the primary packaging components (i.e. gliding and break-off forces in the glass syringes) and the connection to transport stresses and device handling during patient injection.

In this context, you will develop a robust method to perform texture analysis test on single use syringes for injection and an automated data elaboration to support the routine test.

Then the experimental work will consist of 4 work packages:

Literature research to grasp the state of the art and potential additional test or data elaboration method; Screening of different parameters potentially impacting the forces applied on a syringe; Design of Experiment with the selected most impactful parameters and generation of a statistical based model to predict the force recorded based on the input parameters; Human perception blind test to connect the data obtained to the human factor.

You will eventually resume the data and model obtained in a report and he/she will present the outcome of his/her internship to the R&D department.

You’ll be excited by the thought of:

  • building your scientific knowledge
  • working in an enthusiastic team
  • growing your skills in texture analysis
