About Rechargeable Battery Materials

We are all on the move. Umicore's rechargeable battery materials give people autonomy and connectivity. We are a pioneer in battery materials that give added range and performance to electric vehicles. Our materials also ensure longer battery life for portable electronics. To enable our customers to produce even better performing batteries we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. Which is where you come in.

What you will be doing
  • You provide financial closure support and you contribute to the monthly financial reporting
  • You prepare the various financial reports prior to approval by the manager, before being delivered for a thorough management control
  • For specific requests, you create and elaborate on financial reports for internal purposes in order to enable accurate and more detailed analysis and to assist in good decision-making by the management
  • You perform a critical analysis of the established reports, you are able to explain deviations and make suggestions with a clear focus on delivering reporting improvements to hierarchy
  • You are able to answer questions from the company auditors about accounting entries, or passing on the most complex inquiries to the hierarchy
  • You provide support on answering questions from BU consolidation in South-Korea or other colleagues abroad (China, Hong-Kong & Finland)
  • You make sure the monthly recurring closing tasks run smoothly by foreseeing all necessary preparations
  • You provide operational background to the accounting department for tasks they perform on behalf of the business unit (intercompany recharges, closing program execution, deferral postings,…)
  • You follow-up on pending open topics during the month in a timely and structured way
  • You report to the RBM Belgium/Poland Finance Manager

Who we are looking for

  • You have a Bachelor's degree in accounting or in another closely related financial field
  • You have sound knowledge of general accounting and affinity for finance reporting
  • You have an analytical mind; you are flexible, hard-working, accurate and you can prioritize in accordance with the deadlines for financial closure
  • You work in an efficient and structured way and are result-oriented
  • You are customer-focused and you treat internal or external customers' questions professionally
  • You have sound knowledge of English and preferably also of Dutch or French, both spoken and written
  • You have sound knowledge of MS Office (Excel). Knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • You are willing to learn new things and to continuously improve yourself
