For a start-up company located in Zaventem we’re looking for a Cost Accountant to join their finance department. This is a temporary function for 6 months.
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for:
- Harmonizing scheme for overhead cost allocation for 2 factories (Asia & US) and definition of productivity
- Standard cost setting
o Review BOM
o Analyze material costs based on last 12 month average
o Calculation of labor costs
o Overhead calculation
o Review depreciation
- Define and implement monthly reporting compared to standard costs for labor, material and overhead costs
- Implement inventory controls and valuation (Net realizable value, slow moving, quality and shelf life/useable life)
- Yearly physical inventory / cycle counting
Profile of ideal Cost Accountant:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or economics
- Several years of experience in accounting
- Ability to work hands on, result-oriented and excellent communication skills
- Excellent in English. Any other language is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of MS office
- Knowledge of SAP is a plus
- Experience with IFRS and/or US GAAP is a plus as well
