And you have as well …    

 

  • a Master’s degree in law;
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, French, Dutch (and perhaps German);

 

  • knowledge and experience in negotiating of key international master agreements (e.g. ISDA, CSA, FBF, ARG, DRV, GMRA, GMSLA, EMA, etc.) as well as knowledge and understanding of key regulation (e.g. EMIR, MiFID II, FATCA, Dodd Frank) and clearing, trade reporting, regulatory risk mitigation techniques;

 

OR

 

knowledge and experience in reviewing debt and/or equity capital market documentation as well as knowledge and understanding of key regulation (e.g. Prospectus Regulation, Market Abuse Regulation, MiFID II, etc.);

 

  • knowledge of LMA documentation would be an advantage;
  • understanding of financial markets’ products and processes would be an advantage; and
  • preferably 1-4 years legal practice, in-house or law firm experience (or a banking experience)

Your role …

 

  • assist the Financial Markets teams to provide financing and hedging solutions for a wide variety of clients from a legal and documentation perspective;
  • negotiate various type of international master agreements such as ISDA, CSA, FBF, ARG, GMRA, GMSLA, DRV, EMA, etc.;
  • provide legal advice to stakeholders on transactions and financial market products;
  • be an active member in industry initiatives such as ISDA working groups and monitor global derivatives developments;
  • be part of various internal implementing work streams together with members of other internal departments such as Credit Risk, Compliance, Operations, Front Office, etc.;
  • be part of the implementation of the regulatory reform in the context of financial markets and their services and products;
  • provide legal support to other departments within ING globally on all matters which fall within the scope of activity;
  • advise, negotiate, review and structure documentation relating to debt capital markets in Belgium, France and Luxembourg for both clients and ING issuances, including commercial paper, medium term notes, covered bonds and retail bonds; and
  • advise, negotiate, review and structure documentation relating to equity capital markets transactions in Belgium (IPO, SPO, OPA, …)
