Your role & work environment
As a Senior Risk & Finance (R&F) Auditor, you will, together with your colleagues, audit processes within the Risk and Finance domains to assess that controls have been designed adequately and implemented effectively.
You will be a member of the 3rd Line of Defense within the Corporate Audit Services/R&F Belux team in ING BE.
Your key responsibilities
- Planning and performing audits in various Risk and Finance domains in ING Belgium. Possibly participate in one audit/year in other ING units (Amsterdam and Luxemburg);
- Thorough understanding of the businesses & end-to-end processes audited, inherent risks, underlying regulatory requirements and ING-expected control frameworks;
- Assess whether key risks are adequately mitigated by assessing effectiveness of key controls.
- Perform Audits which includes walkthroughs, meetings and data analytics.
- Interact with stakeholders and manage expectations. Ensure that issues identified as a result of fieldwork have been discussed and agreed with all relevant stakeholders.
- Utilize adequate tools and techniques (Data Analytics) to increase audit coverage and high quality control testing results
- Summarize findings and value added recommendations. Document the fieldwork test results and the supporting evidences in Team Mate (Audit Workflow) within the timelines agreed at the beginning of the audit.
- Write audit reports in line with CAS report writing standards.
- Perform assessment of submitted issues for closures.
- Stay well informed on the business and risk developments, internally and externally;
- Stay up-to-date with the trends and techniques in the internal auditing profession.

As a Senior Auditor, you will also need:
- Minimum 4 years of relevant banking / internal or external auditing experience, in a position that provided you with a sound understanding of the banking environment, including capacity of identifying and evaluation key inherent risk and mitigating controls; Master degree or equivalent;
- An independent mindset and professional scepticism. Ability to challenge the existing patterns, to speak up and sustain your point of view in an argumented and assertive manner;
- Solution-oriented, ability to advice on workable actions to mitigate risks in a sustainable manner;
- Strong organisational and follow-up skills, including handling competing priorities;
- Ability to make complex analyses & summarise key messages in verbal and written communication;
- Proficiency in speaking & writing in English language.
