Beschrijving
As a Junior Legal Counsel, you will be part of the General Secretariat Department. You will assist the Secretary General as well as the management and entities of the Elia Group at both national and international level.
Your main responsibilities will involve:
- providing advice on corporate, finance and contract law;
- advising on and ensuring compliance with good corporate governance practices;
- monitoring and implementing regulations applying to listed companies, more specifically financial regulations (in terms of the information to be provided by listed companies) and regulations on market abuse;
- offering guidance on regulatory governance (more specifically corporate governance and certification under the Electricity Act);
- managing the mandates and signing authorities of the entire Elia Group;
- preparing and compiling reports on meetings held by various bodies, managing board and general meetings of the Elia Group and its subsidiaries and reporting to management (at national and international level);
- dealing with legal formalities on behalf of the Elia Group, more specifically those linked to the Code of Conduct and shareholder register;
- keeping track of legislative developments in the branches of law relevant to the company, more specifically those relevant to a company listed on the stock exchange and subject to checks carried out by multiple (federal and regional) regulators.
- You hold a Master's degree in law, ideally with a specialty in corporate law.
- You are fluent in French or Dutch and have a good grasp of the other national language and of English.
- You are well versed in the branches of law relevant to the company, more specifically corporate and financial law.
- You can work with others at all levels of management.
- You are a team player.
- You are flexible and cope well with stress.
- You are diplomatic, honest and discreet.
- You organise your work effectively and pay close attention to details.
- You have solid analytical skills and a flair for writing documents (opinions, minutes, and so on).
