Your role & work environment

ING is rapidly transforming from a traditional bank into a next-generation digital bank, where more and more journeys are being digitalized. In the Digital First Area of Channels Domain, we seek an enthusiastic engineer with a passion for digitalisation, to ensure that all demands from our businesses and related to different transformation and digitalisation programmes are implemented within the expected timelines and with expected quality.

You will analyse and translate the demands in a clear development and delivery plan within respected timelines. You will work in multidisciplinary squads with other team members such as back end developers, feature engineers, product owner and chapter leads. As a developer you will contribute in providing solutions for the requirements but on top you will also play a central role to bring all pieces together and create overview and uniform approach from technical point of view.

 

Develop ING web and mobile applications

  • Develop new/existing flows for ING web and mobile applications using ING web standards and way of working.
  • Understand the goal and message of the customers and contribute to providing solutions for their requirements
  • Technical design, development, testing, delivery and documentation of the flows.

As a Senior Front-end Developer, you are :

  • Passionate about the route to of digitalisation including new media, internet and other distribution channels.
  • Able to be the technical lead inside your squad and to coach less experienced co-workers.
  • Great in designing concepts that add value to the customer experience.
  • Analytical and detail oriented. 
  • Strong in design and ambitious to become a Full stack developer.
  • Proud of your very tangible results.

And you must have :

  • 5+ years of experience in Front-end development..
  • Experience in technical analysis and development of Sales oriented WEB applications for end customers.
  • knowledge of lit-html and other web component based technologies
  • knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, ES6,…
  • knowledge of NPM or other package manager
  • knowledge of IT basic principles used in WEB applications including REST APIs

Nice to have as well :   

  • basic knowledge of Java, APIs, Sprint framework, Oracle, database and Middleware
  • knowledge of CI/CD frameworks. Experience with Azure DevOps.
  • the Agile mindset to join Scrum driven projects in a polyvalent DevOps squad
  • strong communication skills
  • knowledge of excellent English (French /Dutch nice to have ).
