You are an energetic Engineer with a passion for IT and positive can-do mindset. You are a team player, working as a core member of a multidisciplinary and cross-functional squad whom primary driver is the customer perspective. Close collaboration within and across the squads and with the consumer is of utmost importance for you.

You have a broad and diverse set of competencies that allow you to bring into production and under management, operate, solve security incidents and even decommission the application(s) and/or infrastructure services of your squad, and that allow you to automate as much of the operating and maintenance work as possible.

As an Ops Engineer in Channels (The Warriors squad), you contribute to accomplishing the squad's mission. You do this by working on the customer journey from the backlog, using the Agile method end-to-end. You continuously strive to improve yourself and your colleagues.

Channels tribe is responsible all the critical online / physical channels of the bank, we always become the first point of contact for any disruption or bad customer experience. For a better customer experience we want our channels to be reliable and available all the time.  Being a member of the Warriors squad, we make sure that our Channels become more reliable and stable. In order to so constantly run and lead the improvements tracks and doing many other things as to improve the availability of our channels.

 Your key responsibilities

The Ops Engineer bears primary responsibility for the stability of application(s), identifies application and system-related problems and takes the lead in resolving incidents. Your tasks consist of monitoring, management, studying and running the application / service. You proactively monitor the technical behavior and performance in all aspects for the entire stack in order to prevent problems. This means you can contribute to completion of all activities in the backlog. The following items are vital in this:

  • You work together with colleagues from other areas of expertise and take initiative in expanding knowledge (both within and outside of your area of expertise) that is relevant for the Tribe in which you work.
  • You use your technical expertise and experience to contribute to all sprint events (planning, refinements, retrospectives, demos).

Day to Day job

  • Manage the wellbeing of our IT landscape,
  • Help our colleagues of OPS- and DEV Engineers as well as our end-users to be as productive as possible.
  • Build a deep knowledge of the squads' applications and/or platform components, with a good understanding of the ecosystem they live in,
  • Safeguard the application quality and performance during the entire production life cycle,
  • (Proactively) monitor and report on our applications availability and performance,
  • Interpersonal and organization skills, ensuring smooth cooperation with a diverse set of stakeholders,
  • As a L3 OnCall engineer for Legacy channels, identify, react fast on incident alerts and take lead in mitigating the issues.
  • As a Domain Major Incident Manager (DMIM), take the lead during Prio 1 & 2 Incidents, and support the LMIM team in Major Incidents.
  • Manage and coordinate all required actions to ensure fast resolution of these Incidents in order to mitigate and/or minimize the impact of an incident to our internal as well as external customers
  • Identify areas to automate our work.
