As part of the development towards a “More Digital- and Data driven Bank”, ING is renewing the reporting data management capabilities globally.

The CoE Reporting department is gatekeeper of qualitative reporting within ING Belgium. Our credo is our data is always right so our stakeholders can use it to get valuable insights about our banking activities.

Several reporting activities, from financial to regulatory reporting, from internal credit risk reporting to income and balance sheet, are tackled within the department, which operates in four different teams.

Within the Center of Expertise Reporting at ING Belgium, the Financial Reporting expert domain is responsible for the financial reporting activities to relevant stakeholders (NBB, ECB, shareholders). The team provides analytical reviews, extensive analysis and interpretation of results.

 

Being part of the Financial Reporting team, you can make the difference for the bank by helping to consolidate accounting figures, all this being part of an international environment which use an Agile Organization to reach the objectives and is always evolving in term of way of working and technologies.

 

Your key responsibilities

As an Accounting & Reporting expert, you are fully responsible for the timely delivery and the analysis of reports in your scope; your main responsibilities are:

  • Prepares financial statements and other complementary reports, review analytically and validates them with a critical eye on data quality.
  • Performs complex analyses and understand variations monthly/quarterly/yearly
  • Prepares responses to ad-hoc requests from stakeholders (e.g., ECB, management, external auditor)
  • Reviews and coordinates the report preparation by others and is responsible for coaching of less experienced staff
  • Works closely together with various departments within the processing chain (Front Office, Back Office /Operations, Finance, Risk Management)  and improves data quality issues.
  • Understands finance & risk process architecture and supporting systems
  • Participates in strategic, tactical, and ad-hoc change projects to set clear requirements on data definitions and implement these together with the Finance & Risk Tribe
  • Monitors compliance with regulation

As Accounting & Reporting expert you will also need:

 

  • Master’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or alike
  • Previous experience/knowledge of financial reporting
  • an analytical mindset
  • A curious and challenging attitude
  • a good sense of humour
  • Knowledge of Microsoft office excel
  • Basic knowledge of data management concepts
  • Knowledge of GFRS is a plus
  • knowledge of reporting software such as Cognos, BusinessObjects is a plus
  • strong data visualization competence is a plus
