DEV Engineer – WB Tech BE – IFS.Net Engineer in Brussel

ING is looking for a DEV engineer who wants to join the core team called IFS (International Finance System).

IFS It is an in-house developed core banking system for Wholesale Banking clients, operated and maintained out of Belgium. It offers business services to international branches of ING.

The main business services are payment and cash management services, with additional lending and financial market services which are essential to offer a consistent set of services to the international customers. The main modules are Account Management, Accounting (GL), Payments and Cash Management, Commercial Loans & Credits, Back-office arbitrage, and Static data.

The support business services offered by IFS allow integrating the application in the payments, finance, and risk systems of ING. IFS is running in 7 countries, as logical instances on a shared infrastructure.

Our system is implemented on Microsoft technologies in the ING Private Cloud (IPC). Currently, we are building using .NET, Kafka, Elastic search, Tibco, Azure Pipeline having infrastructure in IPC (ING Private Cloud).

You will deliver business value across the entire end-to-end application chain together with your team. You understand the total stack and contribute to all activities on your backlog: You can move all typical stories and tasks from To Do to Done.

Besides building beautiful and maintainable code, you will:

• Build CI/CD pipelines
• Make our solution maintainable, efficient, resilient, secure, compliant and meeting ING standards
• Contribute to application design
• Refinement and planning with your team, teams from the involved E2E chain and the Product Prepare & estimate new features
• Follow change management and incident management procedures

As a DEV Engineer you will also need:

• Education at Bachelor/Master level with a strong analytical background, preferably in IT, or Econometrics
• Certifications and/or proven proficiency in one or more programming languages
• Writing pseudocode – solving programming problems
• SQL: comfortable writing queries daily
• Experience in a software development team in either one of these roles: Technical Business Analyst/Tester/Developer
• Strong knowledge about HTTP, REST API’s and JSON is a plus
• Strong knowledge about Kafka
• Knowledge about Elasticsearch is a plus
• Strong knowledge of automation tools is a plus
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, reactive programming is a plus
• Work experience in an Agile organization and you have proven Agile mindset and behavior.
• You have broad experience in the activities described in ‘What will you do?”
• An excellent spoken and written command of English.

• You have a broad understanding of the IT architecture of your domain, have excellent analytical skills and can determine the impact of certain choices. You are aware of the architecture principles and standards used within ING. You can translate these principles into concrete actions for your team.
• You recognize yourself in ING’s Orange Code and apply it to push your team to highest possible performance.
