Antwerp Area

• The Antwerp Refinery, which is integrated with the Performance Intermediates Plant, is situated in the port area. With ongoing large and small investments, ExxonMobil ensures that the installations on the refinery site remain modern and efficient, and that the refinery retains its competitiveness.
• The Antwerp Performance Intermediates Plant is one of the largest and most modern plants in Europe that produces liquid hydrocarbons. The plant has been completely integrated with the refinery as part of an initiative to maximise efficiency.
• The Meerhout Polymers Plant is one of the the largest LDPE manufacturers in Europe and it supplies products to numerous industries. The plant is organisationally twinned with the Zwijndrecht Polymers Plant, which produces special types of polyethylene in relatively small volumes.

Brussels Headquarters

The office building in Brussels (Machelen) houses ExxonMobil's regional headquarters for Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EMEA) and the European Technology Centre for research and development.

We are offering a position as Cost & Schedule Controls Engineer in our Project Organization at our Belgium refinery. Our project organization delivers capital projects to our Belgium Refinery all the way from early design to final field construction. Our projects play an important role in enabling a safe, reliable and competitive operation of our facilities and are vital in the exciting challenge of the energy transition.

The Cost & Schedule Controls Engineer has basic competency of all C&SE areas and is a member of the project team. In addition to technical ability, they should demonstrate sound communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills. This job role conveys the generic experience and skills of an early career individual.

Main activities of the role are:

• You will be part of a multidisciplinary project organization, that works on projects for our Belgium facilities but also provide opportunities for regional projects
• You will be able to build a network of colleagues – not only within our global projects organization but also with other divisions like technical, maintenance, engineering and process
• Your main job will be focused on post-Gate 3 Project Controls, comprising of Cost Reporting, Cost Control and Scheduling.

Job Role Responsibilities:

• Provide overall project cost, schedule, estimating, progress measurement, and change management expertise
• Supports project team with ongoing project cost/schedule analysis, reporting, forecasting, budgeting and Change Management
• Engages with project team and functional teams
• Monitoring and appraising the performance of the Contractor(s) in the areas of cost control, progress measurement and control
• Coordinates/Supports development of EMCAPS deliverables (i.e. Project Controls Plan)
• Identify, drive and promote capital efficiency, opportunities, and risks on project

Skills and Qualifications

• Fluent in English language skills: understanding, reading, writing and speaking
• At least intermediate in Dutch/Flemmish language skills: understanding, reading, writing and speaking
• Education: Engineering discipline degree or equivalent - 5 year university education MSc Engineering preferred
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
• Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proactive, with an ability to anticipate, identify and resolve potential issues
• Effective leadership skills, including influencing with no direct formal authority
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with people from various backgrounds in developing innovative solutions

Preferred Experience

• No prior experience required
• Candidates with up to 3 years of experience in a similar role or industry are also welcome to apply
