Your role & work environment
You are an experienced Engineer with a passion for IT and positive can-do mind set. You are a team player whose primary driver is customer satisfaction.
As an Engineer in WB Tech Financial Markets & Global Treasury, you’ll be supporting an in-house applications used in the dealing room and market risk management department.
Your key responsibilities
Engineering
- You provide level-2 support on a front office application, implying close contact with end users and developers
- You implement the security and risk management policy (for ex. solving security vulnerabilities) such that the system is secure at operating system, database and application server level. Patching the production environment is only possible in weekends.
- Build, enhance and maintain tooling and scripts to automate repetitive or error prone tasks.
- Implement monitoring to detect problems early.
Contribute to the new way of working
- You use your technical expertise and experience to contribute to all sprint events (stand-up, planning, refinements, retrospectives, demos).
- You work together with colleagues from other areas of expertise (including Finance) and take initiative in expanding knowledge that is relevant for the Tribe in which you work.
- You contribute to the development of your squad by actively giving and receiving feedback.

As an Application Support Engineer you will also need:
Experience and specialized knowledge
- Database Management (MS SQL Server) and advanced knowledge of SQL
- Expertise in PowerShell scripting on Windows and Bash scripting on Linux OS (RHEL)
- Experience managing Java applications
- IT Security Minimum Standards (Identity & Access management, Security Monitoring, Operational Resilience, …)
- Experience with monitoring tools like the ELK stack
- Nice to have: knowledge of Continuous Delivery tools (Azure DevOps) and Cloud Management and/or financial markets

Education and professional certifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent by experience
- Good written and spoken knowledge of English
- Certified in Continuous Delivery and/or Cloud Management is a plus
- Nice to have: financial / mathematical / economics education or similar by experience
