Context

As a Risk and Control Management Intern, you will immerse yourself in critical risk management initiatives that shape our organization's landscape. Collaborate with experienced professionals across Risk, Compliance, and Operations departments, contributing to projects that influence our strategic decisions. You'll develop your analytical skills, gain in-depth knowledge of risk management practices, and play a key role in ensuring our organization's adherence to risk control standards. We're looking for motivated individuals with a passion for risk management, a sharp analytical mind, and a team-oriented attitude to help us navigate these exciting challenges.

Your position

1. Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA): Assist in conducting RCSA to identify and assess risks within various departments.
2. Control Testing: Perform control testing to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.
3. Report Writing: Prepare summary documents, reports, and presentations for internal teams and management.
4. Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Risk, Compliance, and Operations departments to ensure a common understanding of risk issues.
5. Data Management: Collect and analyze data to support risk assessments and control testing.
6. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize existing risk management processes and propose innovative solutions.
7. Communication: Present analyses and findings clearly to team members and stakeholders.
8. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of risk assessment activities, decisions, and control testing results.
9. Training Participation: Engage in professional development to deepen understanding of risk management practices.

Your profile

We are seeking a highly motivated final-year Master's student with a strong interest in business process management to join our team at Degroof Petercam.

Educational Background:
• Currently pursuing a Master's degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Specialization or coursework in risk management is highly preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:
• Solid understanding of risk management principles and practices.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French or Dutch.

Personal Attributes:
• Passionate about risk management and eager to learn.
• Sharp analytical mind with attention to detail.
• Team-oriented attitude with the ability to collaborate effectively.
• Proactive and able to take initiative on projects.
• Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Qualifications:
• Previous internship or work experience in risk management or a finance environment is an advantage.
